Business Brews event for manufacturers
Redland City Council is excited to host the 11th Business Brews event on Wednesday 12 March 2025. Business Brews is a targeted networking series designed to support manufacturing businesses on Redlands Coast. Join us to network with other local manufacturers and hear about industry assistance programs available for manufacturers.

Council's Economic Development and Partnerships Group are pleased to welcome Carla Newman and Michael Anderson to the group's leadership team. Our newest team members join Christine Potito, Service Manager Destination and Place Development and Group Manager, Natasha Comber. The appointments completed a recent service redesign to better position the group to deliver on our Redlands Coast economic development agenda, and support local industry and business thrive through a partnered approach.
Carla brings more than 16 years of experience at Council, including strong background in strategic planning, business transformation and most recently working closely with the City’s tourism industry to support visitor economy growth. In leading Council's strategic partnerships and advocacy, Carla will work with public and private sector stakeholders to realise opportunities that deliver economic outcomes and community benefit. She will also oversee Council’s advocacy program, and lead promotion of Redlands Coast as a great place to invest and live.
Michael has more than 30 years of town and strategic planning experience in both local government and private sector, including leading city planning and assessment here at Council. Michael’s experience, combined with local knowledge, position him well to deliver insightful and impactful economic development services to help build capability of Redlands Coast. The services Micheal oversees include economic strategy and research, investment attraction, and industry and business development.

Qld Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning is hosting “The Building Blocks of ESG” webinar series on 19 and 26 March 2025. This two-part series will help you understand and implement ESG (environmental, social and governance) principles in your business. Speed networking event
Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce will host their next membership event on 20 February. Join the networking event to connect with other local entrepreneurs and learn what the Chamber does to benefit local businesses.
Redlands Coast Futures Forum
Redlands Regional Jobs Committee's Redlands Coast Futures Forum is on 27 February 2025. It will showcase opportunities for students, young people and job seekers in advanced manufacturing, automation, technology, robotics, environmental research and scientific research. This is a great chance for prospective employees to connect with industry leaders and explore a new career path.

Delivered by Regional Business HQ, learn the basics and discover how to use social media as a no-cost marketing tool at a free workshop on Friday 7 March, 10am to 12pm in Capalaba.

Did you know 15 per cent of Redlands resident workers work from home? We've seen a 10 per cent increase on the previous Census result. This shift is shaping traditional work environments and is an indication of more flexible work arrangements in place. Resident workers employed in knowledge intensive service sectors like financial and insurance services and professional, scientific and technical services are three times more likely to work from home than the average worker/employee. The work from home trend - as well as hybrid work models - will likely continue to grow, driven by advancements in technology, and work-life balance reasons.

Business Chamber Queensland's free ecoBiz sustainability program helps businesses save costs by reducing waste, water and energy consumption. The ecoBiz program has been supporting Queensland businesses to achieve sustainability goals for more than 10 years.
