BB Communication Kia ora
While winter is starting to appear, we have so much going on around the country for BB that you could mistake it for Spring!! We have some great news stories in this edition of The Bugle, although one is tinged with sadness. We are about to embark on a national tour with the Child Protection Roadshow. We have engaged Malcolm & Linda Bayliss from Mallinbay Consultants to assist with the seminars. I will personally be visiting many of our leaders, volunteers and host churches whilst on this Roadshow. We have updated our full product price list with thanks to Leigh-Ann and Alesha and we thank you in advance for your patience. NLDC will be here before you know it and there are still places available. Stu Thompson visited Nelson Lakes to spy out some great camp sites for Stage 2 solos. He captured some epic photos of one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand, click on the link below to register. Stay Sure & Stedfast - Hebrews 6:19 While there is so much happening this year let's not lose sight of what BB stands for. While attending the Edge Workshop hosted at Otahuhu Primary School recently, we were teaching on Discipline, Integrity, Respect and Tenacity (DIRT Boy). This is a wonderful way of using our BB vernacular in the local community. This is underpinned by our objective "The advancement of Christ's Kingdom among Boys' and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-Respect and all that tends towards a true, Christian manliness." All of BB's values and objective are encompassed in the phrase FAITH, FOUNDATION & FUTURE. BB New Zealand have been hosting Edge Workshops in schools during the the last 10 years in the Bay of Plenty, Otago and more recently in Christchurch, Waikato and Auckland. Edge Workshops cater for boys aged 8 - 11 and teach practical skills, values and help build their self self esteem. Stu Thompson and Warwick Tomlinson have worked tirelessly to promote and run the workshops, and their tenacity is proof of how successful the Edge Workshops have become.
