BB Communication

Kia ora

While winter is starting to appear, we have so much going on around the country for BB that you could mistake it for Spring!!

We have some great news stories in this edition of The Bugle, although one is tinged with sadness.

We are about to embark on a national tour with the Child Protection Roadshow.  We have engaged Malcolm & Linda Bayliss from Mallinbay Consultants to assist with the seminars.  I will personally be visiting many of our leaders, volunteers and host churches whilst on this Roadshow.

We have updated our full product price list with thanks to Leigh-Ann and Alesha and we thank you in advance for your patience.

NLDC will be here before you know it and there are still places available.  Stu Thompson visited Nelson Lakes to spy out some great camp sites for Stage 2 solos.  He captured some epic photos of one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand, click on the link below to register.

Stay Sure & Stedfast - Hebrews 6:19

While there is so much happening this year let's not lose sight of what BB stands for.   While attending the Edge Workshop hosted at Otahuhu Primary School recently, we were teaching on Discipline, Integrity, Respect and Tenacity (DIRT Boy).  This is a wonderful way of using our BB vernacular in the local community.

This is underpinned by our objective "The advancement of Christ's Kingdom among Boys' and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-Respect and all that tends towards a true, Christian manliness."

All of BB's values and objective are encompassed in the phrase FAITH, FOUNDATION & FUTURE.

Well done to Warwick and his team running the Edge Workshop in schools, teaching skills, values and boosting their self esteem while helping them on their journey within the national school system.  Sadly, Wayne Dyke pictured second left passed away after this story was done and photo taken.  Warwick, the leaders and boys will miss Wayne and his contribution and friendship to Mosgiel ICONZ and the Edge Workshops.

Please click on the link to read the great story as we remember the life of Wayne.

Child Protection Roadshow

We are on the road with Malcolm and Linda Bayliss to undertake a 2.5 hour seminar covering off important aspects of Child Protection.  We are starting in the Tasman Region followed by Wellington, Manawatu, Auckland, Northland, BOP, Waikato, Coromandel, Canterbury, Otago and Southland. We will also be available to talk about what's happening for BB New Zealand before and after the presentations, so please feel free to get in touch if you would like to catch up for any reason.

If you are in a leadership position or volunteer with children, this seminar will be of great benefit to you and worth the investment in time.  We are sponsoring the cost and only ask for a Koha collection at each venue to help toward expenses.   Please click on the link below for more details, and feel free to circulate.

Postcards from Nelson Lakes - thanks to Stu Thompson, Nice one Stu!!!

BB New Zealand have been hosting Edge Workshops in schools during the the last 10 years in the Bay of Plenty, Otago and more recently in Christchurch, Waikato and Auckland.  Edge Workshops cater for boys aged 8 - 11 and teach practical skills, values and help build their self self esteem.

Stu Thompson and Warwick Tomlinson have worked tirelessly to promote and run the workshops, and their tenacity is proof of how successful the Edge Workshops  have become.

As part of our BB New Zealand strategy we see Edge Workshop as a practical outreach into the community where boys are impacted positively and in turn impact their Whanau and local community.

Funny to finish!
