OPC Short-Term Missions and Disaster Response

Volume 11 No. 1

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.
Blessed be His glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with His glory!
 Amen and amen! —Psalm 72:18-19

Considering Domestic
Short-Term Missions

Nearly two years after the first wave of COVID hit, OPC Short-Term missions continues to cautiously plan around COVID travel restrictions. Although we still have a few international opportunities open at this point, this could be a great time to consider some "outside-of-the-box" domestic opportunities, like "Churches Helping Churches", where one church can lend a hand to another.

OPC Disaster Response has been quiet recently, praise the Lord! Even though there are no active disasters for volunteers of OPC Disaster Response, we continue to work behind the scenes on building our registry and dispersing funds to those in need. Two opportunities in particular have developed.

  • The first came to us by way of generous donations toward the recent Kentucky tornadoes.
  • The second came after devastating fires destroyed homes in a development in the greater Denver area on December 30, including the home of an OPC family.

COVID-19 Pandemic Response Fund

To date, $115,694.00 has been received, and the CDM continues to keep this fund open for donations in the event of other dire requests. The CDM has disbursed $82,695. of that to brothers and sisters around the world. Thank you for your contributions and prayers!

Meet the CDM's New Intern, Hannah White!

Her major is “Global Marketplace Engagement” which she hopes to use in working for a ministry or on the mission field when she graduates in the spring. Hannah attends Shawnee Presbyterian in Shawnee, OK. Hannah will be helping with administrative and communications work in the CDM office from January through April, 2022, so you may be hearing from her in the near future. Welcome, Hannah!
