As an Exchange at Penn (EAP) / International Guest Student Program (IGSP) student, you are invited to participate in the EAP/IGSP Student Orientation, which is specifically designed to support you. You are also invited to attend some of the New Student Orientation (NSO) events.

Events Calendar

The EAP/IGSP Student Orientation will run from Monday, August 17 to Thursday, August 20, and is packed with events that prepare you for your life at Penn! Check out some of the many events and opportunities that you have to look forward to.

Please note that several events on the calendar are mandatory for all EAP/IGSP students. All mandatory events will be marked with a red M.

Tuesday, August 18

Best of the Penn Museum Tour

Meet at the Front Entrance to the Penn Museum, inside the Warden Garden | 10:30am-11:30am 

Join us for an inspiring tour and discover why this extraordinary place is a source of pride worth sharing with all your friends. 

Penn Libraries Showcase

Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center | 12pm-2pm

Explore the Penn Libraries’ research materials, high-tech equipment, study spaces, and services that help students succeed.

Allison Zuckerman: Remixed and Reclaimed

Feintuch Family Lobby, Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts | 2pm-4pm

Sign up for your free t-shirt, grab some giveaways, and see Allison Zuckerman: Remixed and Reclaimed, an exhibition of paintings that pull apart art history and pop cultureand put them back together in new ways. 

 

Wednesday, August 19

Treats & Treasures at the Penn Libraries

Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center | 5:30pm-7:30pm

Come check out the libraries after dinner to grab some treats and see some treasures! Dance at a silent disco, try your hand at Quizzo (Philly Trivia), make a postcard, and more! 

 

Thursday, August 20

New Student Resources Tours 

Various Locations | 11am-2pm

Take this self-guided tour through campus and discover the locations of Penn’s multitude of services. 

Highball to Hey Day

College Green | 4pm-6pm

Join Penn Traditions and Alumni Relations to learn about Penn’s traditions and history, play games, and enjoy snacks!

NSO Speakeasy

Kelly Writers House | 9pm-10:30pm

Bring your poetry, your guitar, or your flash fiction to share at this special student-led open mic featuring readings and performances by the incoming class.

 

Friday, August 21

Penn Bookstore Social

Penn Bookstore | 5pm-7pm

Enjoy music, desserts, and raffle drawings in the 2nd floor café!

Night at the Rec

Pottruck Health and Fitness Center | 7pm-9pm

Kick off the year with Penn Campus Recreation!  Explore all five floors of Pottruck and jump into everything Campus Rec has to offer.

NSO Preceptorials

Preceptorials are not-for-credit educational sessions designed to highlight the University’s intellectual richness, foster a sense of belonging within our shared community, and help students shape their Penn experience. These sessions focus on the following key areas: Academic Life, America 250, Civic Engagement, Community Building, Cultural Awareness, and Wellness.

An Evening at the National Constitution Center

National Constitution Center | 6:30pm-9pm

Enjoy a delicious dinner, sweet treats, dancing, and immersive experiences as we honor 250 years of American history. Explore interactive exhibits, enjoy live performances, meet historical reenactors, and discover the people, principles, and moments that have shaped the United States. Wristbands and Penn IDs are required for entry. 

Houston + ARCH | Late Night Open House

Houston Hall and ARCH | 9pm-11pm

New to Penn? We’ve got you covered. This is your opportunity to discover people, places, and programs that work for you. Explore Houston Hall and the ARCH, meet representatives from campus and student organizations, and learn about resources that support you academically, socially, and professionally including many beyond the traditional 9-to-5 schedule. Come ask questions, enjoy food, connect with students, and discover everything from tutoring and wellness services to recreation, safety resources, leadership opportunities, and cultural communities. 

 

Sunday, August 23:

Late Night Comedy

Platt Performing Arts House, Lobby | 9pm

Meet the real Penn and its funniest groups on campus, free for all students. See five of Penn’s premier comedy groups and their stellar bands, including Bloomers, Simply Chaos, Penn Six, Without a Net, and Mask and Wig, performing everything from sketch comedy to improv.
