COVID-19 Update for Staff: Calvary Vonlea Manor will re-open to visitors from Friday 4 February

Date: 3 February 2022

To: All Staff – Calvary Vonlea Manor

From:  Sherryn McMahon, General Manager Aged Care

We are very pleased to let you know that the latest round of testing at Calvary Vonlea Manor has revealed no additional cases of COVID-19 amongst residents or staff. In line with Public Health Unit advice, the outbreak at Calvary Vonlea Manor has been declared over, and will re-open to visitors from Friday 4 February 2022.

Current restrictions at the home can be lifted, residents can move freely within the home effective immediately, and we can re-open to visitors from date subject to the below guidelines.

A reminder: Guidelines for visitors to the home

  • In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours.
  • Each family will nominate the visitor and notify the home manager of who this person is. The visitor is strongly encouraged to have obtained a booster vaccine if they are eligible.
  • Visitors must wear a mask while at the Home, this can be provided by Calvary.
  • Visits will be limited to one (1) hour, and be held in the residents room.
  • The nominated visitor is required to complete screening requirements prior to entry including a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home.
  • Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided.
  • Thank you for all that you have done to ensure our residents continued to receive the safest possible care, with such empathy and compassion over this challenging time.

Your hard work is appreciated.
