Tamahere is where the Hamilton section of the Waikato Expressway connects with the existing State Highway 1 and this will be a busy site until the four-lane highway opens.
Traffic has now moved on to what will be the Hamilton off-ramp, and this creates the space we need to construct the four-lane expressway under the East West Link bridge and down and across the nearby gullies.

This month’s update also looks at progress at Powells Road, where we are taking the expressway over the local road box culvert, and there’s the usual update inside from end to end along the 22km construction site.
