Anjum Sultana on Building a Purposeful Portfolio Career

On August 18th, 2025, the NACY Emerging Leaders Network had the privilege of learning from Anjum Sultana, MPH, and Director of Policy Advocacy, Partnerships, and Youth Leadership at Plan International Canada, in an inspiring session titled “From the Grassroots to the Boardrooms: Cultivating a Life of Purpose and Crafting Your Portfolio Career.”

Anjum shared her leadership journey, emphasizing the power of partnerships, creating pathways for contribution, and the importance of reflection in leadership. She introduced five key principles for building a portfolio career, practical tips for finding purpose, and strategies for recruiting mentors and sponsors.

Her session encouraged NACY's emerging leaders to embrace diverse opportunities, whether through paid roles, volunteer work, board positions, or passion projects to shape a meaningful and impactful career.

Thank you, Anjum, for sharing your insights and inspiring us!

We’re currently filling speaker slots for October to December 2025. If you’re interested in presenting to our emerging leaders group, email us at communications@nacy.ca.
