Kia ora

January 2022 is a really exciting month for people who want to have more walking and cycling travel options in Auckland as this is the start of the year in which the new bridge will open.

We’ve heard from both locals and people who live further afield who have been using the SH20 underpass to travel across the Manukau Harbour and they’ve enjoyed seeing the progress of their new bridge being built.

When open, the bridge will provide not only an important strategic connection as part of the wider walking and cycling network in Auckland but also become a place for whānau and friends to gather, sit and even enjoy a spot of fishing.

We look forward to sharing updates with you over the coming months as we move closer to the opening of this important community asset.
