The work of the academic public health community extends beyond generating scholarship and research. It is our responsibility to also translate our science and to nudge forward conversations that advance the health of all.
SPH hosts public events, creates free resources, and produces accessible publications, aiming to create the tools and spaces that move the public health conversation forward, aligned with our core purpose of Think. Teach. Do.
Founded in 2016, Public Health Post publishes daily original articles by guest authors and BU MPH student fellows to translate public health research and scholarship for a general audience.

Podcasts, Press, and Beyond
- SPH produces four podcasts, including Free Associations, the journal club podcast hosted by Matt Fox, Chris Gill and Jessica Leibler, along with rotating guest hosts
- SPH students regularly publish opinion pieces in the lay press and in the practice-based courses, Communications Strategies for Public Health and Strategies for Public Health Advocacy
- Our faculty and alumni actively engage in real-time public health translation as sought after media experts and thought leaders, receiving nearly 5,000 media mentions this year
