Seven congregations from around Australia will be supported in their outreach endeavours through grants from the LCANZ’s Local Mission Fund from 2026. In addition, a churchwide mission project will receive backing from the fund. Now in its second year, the fund has been designed to support congregations, districts and agencies of the church as they seek new ways of reaching their neighbours and local communities with the gospel through collaboration and partnerships. Karen Pienaar has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of LLL Australia. An experienced chief executive, finance professional and business operations manager, and a committed Lutheran, Karen had been serving as interim CEO since August, after the departure of former Chief Executive Ross Smith. LCANZ Churchwide Office staff moved into the new Church House at 139 Frome Street in Adelaide’s CBD yesterday, Monday 24 November. We ask that church members please give staff a week to settle into the new premises at 139 Frome Street before visiting. We would love to welcome you to Church House from Monday 1 December. Read more

Ordained 14 January 1968 (St John's Unley SA); served Papua New Guinea (1968–1984), Mackay Qld (1984–1991), Bethania Qld (1991–1999), Hope Vale Qld (1999–2009); retired 31 July 2009; died 19 November 2025 (Sunshine Coast, Qld); funeral 1pm, 4 December 2025 (Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buderim Qld); mourned by wife Lynette, children Sala, Debra, Michael and Rachel and families

Earlier this month, Lutheran Media supporters and current and former staff joined the St Michael’s Lutheran Church congregation at Hahndorf SA for a special anniversary celebration worship service.
