National Wireless Safety Alliance Surpasses 20,000 Certifications Issued

Milestone reflects growing industry commitment to professional certification, safety, quality and workforce proficiency.

(Salt Lake City, UT) – The National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) announced today that it has surpassed 20,000 certifications issued to professionals working in the communications infrastructure industry since launching its certification programs in 2017.

The milestone represents a significant achievement for NWSA and reflects the wireless industry’s continued commitment to independently validated worker knowledge, skills and proficiency. NWSA is the only ANSI-accredited trade certification for telecommunications tower technicians.   

“Surpassing 20,000 certifications is an important milestone for NWSA, and more importantly, for the entire industry,” said NWSA Executive Director Duane MacEntee. “We applaud the employers and organizations that have embraced NWSA certification as an important component of workforce development, as well as the thousands who have demonstrated their knowledge and skills by earning an NWSA credential. We appreciate those who have dedicated their efforts to fulfilling the mission of NWSA including our staff and the many volunteers that serve as NWSA Board of Directors, Board of Governors, and subject matter experts.”

NWSA currently offers the following certification programs leading to worker credentials:

• Telecommunications Tower Technician 1 (TTT-1)
• Telecommunications Tower Technician 2 (TTT-2)
• Foreman (FOR)
• Antenna & Line Specialty (A&L)
• Advanced Rigging Concepts Specialty (ARC)
