PCP Gala 2023 is November 11th!

PCP Gala 2023 will be held Saturday November 11th, 7-11 PM at Galdo's!  Tickets are $25 for PCP faculty/staff and students and $64 for guests. Ticket includes dinner, dancing, 3 drink tickets for beer/wine (ID required), photo booth.

Space is limited!  On October 13th tickets will go on sale open for P1-P4, U3/U4 PharmTox and PharmSci students, faculty and staff (and their guests).  Any remaining tickets will go on sale on October 23rd for U1 and U2 PCP students (and guests). Final Deadline for all ticket sales is November 1st. Tickets for PCP students, faculty and staff are discounted thanks to the generosity of PCP alumni and friends.

Application to Graduate Now Open!

All students who are projected to graduate in Spring 2024 are asked to apply to graduate as early as possible. The Registrar would like to get a head start on graduation clearance for next semester. As a reminder, all eligible PCP undergraduate and PharmD students only graduate in May. The deadline to apply to graduate and make any adjustments to your application is December 1st. UMR Fall Bake Sale!

TRICK OR TREAT!!
The United Missions and Relief org is having its first Fall Bake Sale next Monday 10/30 from 11am - 1pm and Tuesday 10/31 from 2-3 pm. This sale will take place at the STC atrium. We will be selling cookies, brownies, cupcakes and more! All proceeds will go towards supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 10/26

 

MSC Meeting + Volunteer Opportunity!

Medical Spanish Club is having our next meeting on Monday, 10/30 at 6:30 PM in LLC 102. During this meeting, we will cover information that will prepare us to possibly speak to Spanish-speaking patients at an upcoming health screening day. Participation in the health screening day will be a great way for you to practice the skills you've learned in the classroom, as well as helping the community and boosting your CV! The health screening day will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Church (1719 Morris St) from 10 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, 11/18. JOIN PPA FOR A HALLOWEEN BASH!!!

Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association: GRASP Night: Halloween Edition! Do you want to become an effective advocate for the profession of pharmacy and learn more about the legislative process and advancing of pharmacy? Come to PPA's GRASP Night on Monday, October 30th from 5-6pm at STC 137. GRASP (Government Relations Advocacy for Student Pharmacists) is intended for preparing student pharmacists to become better advocates, communicators and leaders in the profession of pharmacy. The program consists of 8 modules, regarding pharmacy legislation, with an exercise at the end of each module in order to ensure complete understanding of the materials presented. With the completion of the modules, students will receive a certificate of completion and a GRASP lapel pin. GRASP is free to all PPA members. If you’re a student but not a PPA member as of yet, join today by clicking the button below. If you want to learn more about the program, visit PPA’s GRASP page at the button below and enroll yourself today. In order to make it more interactive, we will also be conducting a “Nightmare in the Pharmacy” Kahoot on medication errors and best practices. The winners will be awarded prizes. Volunteers Needed at The Healthier You Conference 2023

I am hosting The Healthier You Conference 2023 in Chester (city) on Saturday, November 11. It's a full day of wellness workshops, fitness classes, celebrity appearances and more!

I am in need of volunteers to help on the day of the event, as well as the day before for set-up. The event offers a great opportunity to serve an under-resourced community. Volunteers will receive:

Phi Delta Chi Presents... CAREERS IN PHARMACY WEEK!

Careers highlighted include specialty pharmacy, per diem staffing, VIRTUAL managed care residency, cardiac transplant specialty, and critical care. One of the featured speakers, John Mondin, PharmD'15, has the most number of specialty board certifications of any pharmacist in the United States! Learn about the path to these careers from PCP grads next Tuesday through Thursday, October 24-26th at the locations on campus listed on the flyer. ASCP Fundraiser!

Come help out at the Haddon Heights Health Fair!

The annual Haddon Heights Health Fair on Saturday Nov 4th 10am-4pm is a great way to showcase your professional skills through direct interaction with community members! Our APhA Operations hope to provide various services to the community and we’re looking for volunteers to help out. Sign up to engage in providing blood pressure screenings, blood glucose readings, vaccinations, and more to the community members. Please note that some activities do require prior training and we will work with you to achieve this before the event. Volunteering also counts as the community service requirement for IPPEs! Mark your calendars for Saturday October 28th from 10am-12pm, APhA and PPA will be hosting a rally at Center City, Dilworth Park. Off-Campus Volunteering Opportunity on Drexel's Campus on 10/23! Counts towards P1, P2 and P3 IPPE community service/service learning hour requirements!

With it being flu season once again, our campus' APhA Operation Immunization is looking for volunteers to help out with Sunray Drugs' flu clinics on Drexel's campus. The clinic will be needing volunteers from 9:30am-4:00pm but, each volunteer will only need to help out for 2 hours. Volunteers will have the opportunity to help with immunizing and helping prevent serious complications from flu infections in our community! There is also a non-vaccinating position available for each time block. For all volunteers, please sign and send the waiver attached in the sheets along with a copy of your PA immunizing license to jz20834849@sju.edu and mjeon@sju.edu. Volunteers needed for DVSHP Poster Presentation Night!

The DVSHP Student Workgroup is looking for volunteers to help at our annual DVSHP Poster Presentation Night! The Poster Presentation Night is taking place on November 16th 2023 at Temple University. Volunteers would be needed anywhere from 5:30 PM-8:30 PM to assist with setting/cleaning up posters, food, etc. Student's who volunteer can list this on their CV's. Dinner will be provided! Heart Walk Volunteers Needed!

The American Heart Association is hosting a walk November 4th and needs volunteers! The walk will start at 8 am and will likely need volunteers at the beginning and end of the walk. GPPA Volunteers NEEDED!

Once again GPPA has been asked by Enon Tabernacle Baptist church to serve as the pharmacist volunteers for this year's WKYN Health Event, providing information to attendees about medication. Below is the Sign-up for the event to be held on November 11, 2023 (all day). However, we will have sign-up slots from 7 am to 6 pm. For all interested or wanting to volunteer for this event please sign-up. Noting that there may be a need to ask you to change slots to allow the most volunteers for this event. A zoom meeting will be held on Nov 1st to answer questions concerning the event for those of you who sign-up. This is also the deadline to sign-up. We are hoping to have a final schedule of volunteers by November 6th. 10/19
