Greetings, It has been an awe-inspiring time, as ANDE South Africa was invited by the Office of the President of the Republic of South Africa to have an enriching conversation with ecosystem game-changers who have now taken on the name "entrepreneurship activists" together with President Cyril Ramaphosa. Represented by Sekai Chiwandamira (Head of
Chapter) and Tendai Mugabe (Senior Programme Associate), our two ANDE colleagues presented their thoughts and provided recommendations on how to accelerate entrepreneurship development in South Africa. We would also like to congratulate Esethu Cenga for being the first-ever recipient of The Mandela Rhodes Foundation Äänit Prize, for Social Impact. Esethu won the R1.19 million prize for Rewoven, the textile recycling start-up she co-founded in 2018. Well done! We're also eagerly anticipating the upcoming COP26 to be hosted by the United Kingdom in Glasgow. The conference will officially open on 31 October 2021, and more than 120 world leaders are expected to gather in the first few days. The conference is scheduled to end on Friday, 12 November 2021.
