Intended programme: week commencing 11 May 2020 (weather dependent, therefore subject to change)

State Highway 2 & State Highway 29A: Truck and trailer movements through site access points to move construction plant and deliver materials. No traffic delays expected. From Monday 11 May - Friday 15 May, 9am - 4pm.

State Highway 2 Maunganui Road/Girven Road Roundabout: Installing sheet piles. Lane closure. Overnight on Tuesday 12 May - Wednesday 13 May between 8pm - 5am.

Advance notice of significant works

State Highway 2 Te Maunga Roundabout: Multiple lane closures for CPT tesing. Overnight on Wednesday 20 May - Thursday 21 May between 8pm - 5am. 

Long-term traffic management 

  • State Highway 2 Maunganui Rd: Northbound signalized pedestrian crossing is installed for the public to get into the underpass and access the Bayfair Shopping Centre.
  • State Highway 2 between Te Maunga intersection and Concord Avenue: Narrowed lanes and a 50km/h temporary speed restriction are in place for the duration of the project.
  • Bayfair roundabout: a 30km/h temporary speed restriction is in place for the duration of the project.
  • Matapihi Road, adjacent to the golf driving range: Narrowed lanes and a 30km/h temporary speed restriction is in place for the duration of the project.
  • Girven Road, near the Bayfair roundabout: Narrowed lanes are in place for the duration of the project and the right-turn from the Bayfair Shopping Centre car park onto Girven Road is permanently closed.
  • State Highway 29A near Baypark: Narrowed lanes and a 50km/h temporary speed restriction are in place for the duration of the project.
  • State Highway 2 Papamoa-bound slip lane at the Te Maunga intersection is permanently closed.
  • State Highway 2 northbound slip lane turning to State Highway 29A from the roundabout is permanently closed.
