As we wrap up an incredible 2023, we've been reflecting on some of the highlights with the community this year:
Ngā mihi kia koutou to everyone that has been part of this journey so far! Check out what else has been happening in the final push of 2023:
Over the first 2 weekends of December Te Wāhi Tiaki Tātou led the Free Dental event for Porirua at Ora Toa in Cannons Creek! This is the first community initiative to come from the Dental and Oral Health Reimagining session. This initiative is a testament to the power of listening and responding to our community's voice. The events were a collective effort with over 70+ volunteers and collaboration with providers that brought this kaupapa to life. Here's some numbers from the event:
These numbers are more than just statistics, they represent a shared commitment to the well-being of Porirua. In treating individuals, we not only addressed oral health issues, we have begun to build bridges toward a healthier, and more connected community. And to top it off, we were fortunate enough to share our mahi with the media and were featured in The Post, check it out below! The Reimagining Outcome Reports are now ONLINE! These reports are a summary of all the whānau-voice and provider-input contributions during the different Reimagining Sessions. These papers offer recommendations directed to Te Whatu Ora for funding allocation and enable service providers to collaborate together on new ways of delivering their services. Job Opportunity- Ora Toa PHO Board Member x2 Ora Toa PHO Board is seeking expressions of interest to their board!
