I hope that you are safe, warm and enjoying spending time with your family and friends during our "Blizzard of 2022" today.

I am writing to you to ask for your help.

We are at a critical point concerning a vote, which will take place this Tuesday, February 1, with the West Hartford Board of Education (BOE) and I need to ask for your help.

The BOE will vote on Tuesday to eliminate the Warriors and Chieftains names from our High School.  Very few have weighed in on this issue and we need to make our voice heard.

I'm told that less than 20 people have either spoken at BOE meetings or emailed the BOE with their opinion on this issue.  I'm told the opinions are pretty split 50/50.  The good news is that if we can flood the BOE with emails in support of keeping the school names, we may be able to help move the needle or at the very least use this as an example for the future of how the majority party does not listen to residents.

I would also love it if you wrote into editorial@we-ha.com and wrote a letter to the editor tonight so that it can be printed in We-Ha.com on Monday.
