Customer Update Please find attached our final Customer Update of 2021. The purpose of this update is to keep our customers informed of industry updates, markets, and operational process changes. As you know, we are energy experts across various industries and sectors. It means that not all of the content in here will be relevant to everyone, but if you would like to learn more about how we can help, please contact your Relationship Manager. Suppliers Since lockdown we have experienced delays with suppliers. All suppliers have longer response times to queries, obtaining invoices and general requests. Many suppliers have made staff redundant and still have staff working from home, making it harder to escalate requests or queries via phone. Despite an improvement in response times and some return to the office from suppliers, we are still experiencing delays. That said, we continue to work with them to improve on the service and ensure we can respond to your requests in a timely manner. The teams at Zenergi will chase by phone where possible and escalate to Leadership if they encounter any barriers in progressing their queries. Tim Golding, Head of Strategic Partnerships for the Zenergi group, is meeting with suppliers often to feedback and continuously improve on processes. Your Relationship Manager remains your first point of contact for all queries and questions, they will provide a realistic expectation on completion date and keep you informed of the process along the way. Make informed energy procurement decisions: Maximise your competitiveness with optimised energy prices Against the backdrop of huge turbulence in the market and record high energy prices, engaging with our energy experts allows you to access specialist knowledge and tailored services from industry professionals who continually track the market to secure the best value energy contracts. We’ll present a clear evaluation of available options and costs, enabling you to make an informed decision. A fixed contract can provide budget certainty by helping you achieve the best available energy tariff while benefiting from fully fixed and inclusive prices. A flexible contract allows you to control the amount of energy you buy and when you buy it. Energy can be bought in seasons, quarters, months, or even for the day ahead. Most typically, buyers will commit to buying a base load with top up purchases throughout a contract period. This type of contract enables organisations to take advantage of any favourable price movements throughout the whole term of the contract – rather than be restricted to a single procurement decision, as is the case with fixed contracts. Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) enable you to contract for your electricity supply directly with a renewable generator and an electricity supplier, who will sleeve through the electricity and invoice at the agreed rates, in exchange for a longer-term contract, typically 10 years. In addition to the cost benefits and budget certainty this arrangement affords, it also supports organisations wishing to satisfy environmental objectives by being supplied directly from renewable assets. Energy freedom with renewable generation: Plan for the future and take control of your energy spend Avoid risky turbulent wholesale market prices by generating your own electricity via renewable generation or Combined Heat and Power (CHP), allowing you to make significant savings on your grid costs. Once part of an organisation’s long-term horizon plan, increasing numbers of organisations are now reducing their exposure to rising energy prices by adopting renewable energy options that allow them to reduce their reliance on the grid. The upfront cost of financing renewable energy projects has often prohibited implementation, but a growing number are recognising the value of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to finance technology such as solar PV, helping them generate on site electricity, while reducing spend on imported energy. Energy efficiency services The recent turbulence in the energy market, supported by the record high energy prices, has heightened the awareness of many to look towards reducing their energy consumption. As a first step, investing in an energy audit will provide a comprehensive review of the energy used across your building portfolio, identifying a range of practical low cost and no cost measures that typically pay for the audit within a year, together with a range of longer-term investment measures. When combined with a Carbon Management Plan or Heat Decarbonisation Plan, organisations gain a full picture of their carbon footprint and their strategic plan to reducing it. Supplier of Last Resort We have now contacted all customers affected by CNG ceasing trading and provided a 12-month quotation for your gas contract. As mentioned in the last communication, all CNG contracts fell to the Supplier of Last Resort (SoLR) but current contract rates were not honoured. The SoLR is Pozitive Energy, and we are aware they are actively contacting customers about their energy contract. For those of you who have signed a new contract for your energy renewal please rest assured we have everything in hand, and you are not required to sign anything with Pozitive Energy despite the communication they might share. We are advising all customers to send their Relationship Manager a copy of any correspondence received from Pozitive Energy for us to advise. If you have questions on your contracts or wish to discuss anything further, please contact your Relationship Manager and they will be happy to help. Water Webinar We are delighted to announce our latest webinar on 8 December at 11am. The webinar is focusing on reducing water usage in schools and making the end user aware of how much water they should be consuming. Typically, a water survey will identify savings of at least 20%. The webinar will discuss the benefits, process, and live case studies where we’ve successfully saved schools £1000s. Register for the webinar here. Look out for: Throughout 2022 we will deliver a webinar to other sectors on reducing water usage. However, if you are interested to know more now, please contact your Relationship Manager for further information and they’ll be happy to refer you to an in-house specialist. Water Reporting Not long now! We are very excited to announce Water Reporting will be available on our Positive Energy Pack Interactive (PEPI) portal from January 2022. If you are already signed up to our PEPI service and we contract your water, you’ll be able to access the water reporting via your current login. If you already benefit from our PEPI portal, you’ll know it allows you to access high quality validated energy and water data that helps to drive energy and carbon savings. The data will be based on your validated invoices and available for you to log in and review each month. Once the invoices have been produced, you’ll be notified your report is now available to review. On top of providing easy access to reports and consumption information, the portal will allow you to submit your meter reads to us directly. It will send an automated prompt when your meter read is due and provide you with prompts if the read provided does not fall in line. For further details on the benefits of the PEPI portal please click here. If you would like a demo of the portal, please contact your Relationship Manager.
