DoD Report DoD: AI Strategy for Decision Advantage Funded and developed by the Department of Defense (DoD), this recently released, updated report details the DoD’s data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. While the DoD has been investing in AI technology for over 60 years, the report emphasizes the ongoing need for development at the organizational level, despite significant progress. This guide serves as a foundation to strengthen the organizational environment in which DoD deploys data, analytics, and AI capabilities for enduring decision advantage. COSSUP Report Effectiveness of Post-Overdose Response Efforts Funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance and published by the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Program (COSSUP), this report takes a close look at recent research that demonstrates the effectiveness of post-overdose response programs in reducing subsequent overdose risk and overall overdose fatality rates. Mobilizing post-overdose response teams to prevent future overdoses and increase linkages to care for individuals who overdose has become a major part of jurisdictions’ responses to the substance use epidemic. However, much of the research about these individuals has focused on teams’ program descriptions, with little attention devoted to outcomes for individuals with SUD. This report aims to address those deficiencies. BJA Podcast Community Violence Intervention—The Chicago Story Hosted by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, this podcast features Eduardo “Eddie” Bocanegra, a former gang member and current senior advisor in the Office of Justice Programs, and Ernest “Ernie” Cato, a former deputy chief of the Chicago Police Department, as they explain how they helped pioneer a movement called community violence intervention, or CVI, which aids youth exposed to violence and reduces crime in the inner city of Chicago.
