Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

COVID-19 UPDATE for Residents and Families at Calvary Robina Rise

I am pleased to inform you that no additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since our last update to you. The number of positive resident cases remains at seven (7).

We continue to liaise closely with the Public Health Unit and will be guided by their advice as to when it is safe to lift restrictions on Level 3, and re-open to visitors. We are hopeful that residents will no longer need to isolate, from Thursday 27 January 2022.

Until then, Level 3 remains closed to visitors and Level 3 resident’s will continue to be cared for in their rooms for now. Ocean unit,  Level 1 and Level 2 are open to visitors as per previous communication, subject to guidelines.

We are liaising with the Public Health Unit, and will update you as soon as we have any further information. Our staff are in contact with the families of the COVID positive residents and are keeping them informed.

We anticipate our next update to Calvary Robina Rise residents and families will be 28 January 2022, unless there are changes or updates that need to be communicated before then.

What do residents and families need to know?

• To ensure all residents and families have fair access and time for their visitations, we are restricting visits to ONE per week (over the next 7 day period), per resident.
• For now, we kindly ask that you book your visit with us via the instructions below.
• In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor only will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours. This is due to the continuing heightened risk of infection and will be in place until further notice.
• Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.
• Visitors must consent to a RAT test before being allowed entry to the home, complete the usual check-in procedures, and wear full PPE provided by the home for the duration of the visit.
• RAT testing and the usual check-in procedures can take up to half an hour, before visitors are permitted entry to the home. We kindly ask for your patience as we manage these important screening procedures.

Booking a visit with your loved one

• Email kristi.cleland@japara.com.au to request a visitor booking.
• When emailing please include the following information in your email: requested date and time, name of resident and room number, visitors name and attached proof of your COVID vaccination.
• Visiting hours are from Monday to Friday from 9:30am with last entry at 3:30pm. All visitors must leave the home by 5.00pm.
• Please note, no visitors will be permitted entry on Wednesday 26 January 2022 due to it being a Public Holiday.

Thank you for you continued understanding and patience.

Sincerely,

Anne Marie Cassaniti
