SAT/UNS Grade Designation Information for Undergraduate and Special Students The Carleton University Senate approved the use of Satisfactory (SAT) and Unsatisfactory (UNS) grades for winter 2023 term and full-year fall/winter 2022-2023 term undergraduate courses. You now have the choice, at your discretion, to convert any or all of your passing winter 2023 term and full-year fall/winter 2022-2023 term grades to the alternative notation SAT. SAT requests for students that have applied to graduate in spring 2023 are due by Friday, May 19, 2023. Requests for all other undergraduate or special students are due by Monday, May 29, 2023. Health Clinic Closed May 2-12, 2023 Health and Counselling Services will be launching a new Collaborative Health Record (CHR) system on Monday, May 15, 2023, providing an improved experience for student health and counselling services. To complete the CHR system implementation, the clinic is currently closed for medical appointments and will reopen Monday, May 15, 2023. On-campus counselling services remain open and available during this time. ![]() ![]() Getting Ready for Fall Registration As we head into the summer term, it’s a good time to make sure you’re ready for registration in the fall. Please visit the Current Students website for some great tips on ensuring you’re well prepared. Some things to consider in advance of registration include: Changes of Program Elements, government funding applications, registration status and year level, account balance and class schedule. Fall/Winter 2023-2024 Class Schedule It’s almost time to register for the 2023-2024 academic year! The fall/winter 2023-2024 class schedule and registration course planning tool will be available in Carleton Central (access by logging into Carleton360) on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Registration begins on Friday, July 7, 2023 for returning students. Your exact time-ticket will be available on Carleton Central approximately one week preceding the registration time period. Registration will remain open until the posted deadline. The Student Registration Assistance team will be available to assist students with registration throughout the summer, both in-person and via email and phone, beginning Thursday, May 25, 2023. Quad Access Points Restricted Access points to the academic quad are reduced due to construction projects until mid-June. The stairs between the Azrieli Theatre and Pavilion are closed, as is the pathway located in the quad running to Southam Hall. Access to Southam Hall and the parking garage will not be impacted. Quad access is available via the south-side stairs (beside Tory Building) and the stairs beside Dunton Tower, as well as through the tunnels. Upcoming Info Session: Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) Roundtable Are you interested in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)? Women in ETFs is a global organization with the aim to share knowledge and inspire more students to participate in the ETF eco-system. Students can join Women in ETFs for free and get access to mentorship programs, networking opportunities, webinars, guest lectures and – most importantly – knowledge in this rapidly expanding industry. Students in all programs are invited to join this virtual session hosted by Career Services today, Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a dynamic discussion of the ETF market, present and future, including the potential career opportunities available to you! Summer 2023 I-CUREUS Applications Are Now Open Have you ever wanted to conduct paid research in your program or an area of your interest? Are you looking for a way to gain hands-on experience to add value to your resume or degree? If so, the Internship – Carleton University Research Experience for Undergraduate Students (I-CUREUS) program may be exactly what you’re looking for! I-CUREUS will provide you with access to research scholarships, mentoring and the opportunity to develop your research skills. If you’re interested in participating in the program, speak with your professors about your interest or reach out to your departmental administrator for more information. Full service will be restored by noon. Carleton Central, Carleton Mobile, Carleton 360 and MyCarletonOne are among the services that will be unavailable during the upgrade. Campus Fire Drills – Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 12 Fire drills will be occurring at select buildings across campus from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 12, 2023. This is a reminder to the Carleton community that upon hearing a fire alarm, all occupants must evacuate the building via the nearest safe exit and proceed to their building’s safe destination site.
