Important Dates and Deadlines Wednesday, September 4, 2024: Fall term begins. Wednesday, September 11, 2024: OSAP deferral deadline. Tuesday, September 17, 2024: Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) in full fall, late fall, and fall/winter courses. Monday, September 30, 2024: Last day to withdraw from full fall term and fall/winter courses with a full fee adjustment (financial withdrawal). Ask Me - We're Here to Help Faculty, staff and student leaders are ready to answer all your student’s questions about campus and Carleton! Your student can ask anyone wearing red Ask Me buttons questions about where their class is, how to navigate the tunnels or where to go for lunch. We’re all here to help.
Get Connected, Stay Connected We’re here to keep your student connected to news, events and services to support their Carleton journey. Students are encouraged to download or update Carleton Mobile, Carleton’s official mobile app for current students, to stay up-to-date with the latest student news and events, view class schedules and receive push notifications for emergencies, grades, class and exam changes, and campus life updates. An updated version (1.3) of Carleton Mobile is now available to download. Full details on the update are available on the Carleton Mobile news and release updates page. Carleton360 is the complete student experience hub. Using single sign on, Carleton360 gives students the ability to move between Carleton Central, cMail and Brightspace, in addition to accessing key services, without re-entering log in credentials.
U-Pass and Campus Card Combined for Fall 2024 This fall, the U-Pass transit pass and the Campus Card are combined. If your student received their Campus Card before Monday, July 1, 2024, they need to add the transit application to their card by visiting the Campus Card Office in 407 Nideyinàn during office hours. Campus Cards issued after Monday, July 1, 2024, have the transit application loaded, and the U-Pass will be activated automatically for eligible students. Visit the U-Pass website for more information. Student Registration Assistance Team If your student is having difficulties with their registration, the Registrar’s Office provides dedicated student registration assistance until registration closes on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. The Student Registration Assistance team is available from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and can assist with course changes, building a conflict-free timetable, Carleton Central navigation and more. Self-Enrol in Multi-Factor Authentication To enhance the security of the Carleton University community, students, faculty and staff are being enrolled in Microsoft multi-factor authentication (MFA). During the fall 2024 term, undergraduate students will automatically begin seeing prompts to set up MFA when they attempt to log into Microsoft 365 services using their MyCarletonOne password. However, your student can self-enrol in Microsoft MFA before they begin seeing prompts.
Have a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) and Need to Prove Your Student Attends Carleton? Students who require Verification of Student Status to obtain their RESP funding can make their request electronically in Carleton Central (log in through Carleton360 on the current students website). Completed requests are emailed directly to your student’s Carleton email account within two business days of request. The Fall Career & Networking Fair Will Host 45+ Employers: Here’s What You Need to Know The Fall Career & Networking Fair is an opportunity for Carleton students who are job searching or exploring their career options to familiarize themselves with employers from a range of industries. This event will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. If this may be useful to your student, please visit the Career Services website. Too Good to Be True? How to Spot a Fraudulent Job Posting or Recruitment Effort Is this a job scam? Is it too good to be true? The answer in most cases is yes. If someone wants to hire your student right away and send them money for doing nothing, then it's a scam. Share these 10 warning signs with your student to help protect them from fraudulent practices when job hunting.
