An Xcel Energy team volunteered their time to transform the yard and playground at our Grotto property. Volunteers improved the site by removing debris, pulling weeds, raking and putting down mulch. YWCA St. Paul Honored With Nonprofit Mission AwardCategory Of Anti-Racism InitiativeThe Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) selected YWCA St. Paul as the recipient of the 2021 Nonprofit Mission Award in the category of Anti-Racism Initiative. In recognition of the award, YWCA St. Paul will be featured in the MCN’s Nonprofit News, Annual Conference and social media channels. YWCA St. Paul will also receive an art glass award and $2,500 in cash. YWCA St. Paul is committed to advancing racial justice through our 21 Day Racial Equity Challenge, monthly Equity & Justice Conversations, consulting work with organizations, and other events. Cassandra Yarbrough – YWCA Spotlight ProfileThe relationship between Board member Cassandra Yarbrough and YWCA St. Paul started many years ago when she worked in the childcare center. “I guess you could say I’ve come full circle,” laughs the life-long St. Paul resident. Helping people comes naturally to Cassandra and a reason for volunteering with YWCA St. Paul. “...Serving as a board member is one way to contribute to my community. I wanted to be connected to an organization that was right in my town—a place where I could give back in a meaningful way.
