Welcome to the first Hutt Valley Business Weekly for 2025! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year with friends, family, and a well-earned break.
It’s great to see the Hutt Valley starting to rev up again as we dive into another year full of potential and opportunities for local businesses.

The new school year has begun, and the demand for laptops is higher than ever. Last year, during the first week of Term 1, over 1,000 laptops were requested by rangatahi eager to learn, connect, and grow. Let’s make 2025 even RAD-er by meeting this demand together! 🌟

We’re urgently seeking preloved laptops to keep up with the growing need. If you have a device collecting dust, now’s the time to give it a second life!
We need laptops that:
➡️ Are less than 10 years old
➡️ Come with their charger
Every laptop you donate will be securely data-wiped and refurbished by RAD clubs before it becomes a digital lifeline for a young learner.

Works Commencing on Daly Street
Preparations are beginning on the vacant Council site at 6-9 Daly Street to transform it into a vibrant, temporary space before redevelopment following Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi | RiverLink’s stopbank upgrade.
The site’s prime riverfront location presents an opportunity to attract people into the city centre, offering new reasons to visit, stay longer, and explore. These temporary improvements will help test ideas for future city centre projects.
Work to tidy and make the site safe starts from Tuesday, 21 January, and will run until early March 2025. Activation elements will follow shortly after. Construction will take place Monday to Saturday, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, with efforts to minimize noise and disruption.
