From Yackandandah Visitor Information Centre
Hello everyone, You may have noticed a familiar exhibit in the windows of the Yackandandah Post Office and Visitor Information Centre as we welcome back a display from John Dermer OAM. John is an internationally awarded potter and member of the International Academy of Ceramics. His work is held in national, state and regional galleries across Australia, as well as in major public buildings like Parliament House in Canberra and the Federal High Court. His beautiful pieces will be on show and available to purchase during his annual exhibition, held over the last weekend of November and the first
weekend of December. The Visitor Information Centre has been buzzing lately with eager prospectors chasing their fortune in what many are calling the new gold rush. We’ve seen seasoned fossickers and plenty of first-time miners trying their luck. With gold prices at an all-time high, it’s drawing visitors from near and far. We do ask everyone to stick to prospecting licence guidelines and work with Parks Victoria to preserve our landscapes and waterways. Don't forget, the Yackandandah Town Garage Sale is coming up on Saturday 8 November. This community event draws treasure hunters from near and far, bringing an influx of visitors to the region and offering a great opportunity for local businesses to connect with new faces. Register your site here. Best wishes,
The Yackandandah Visitor Information Centre Team
