Legal program expands to community

Western’s Legal Information for Sexual Assault (LISA) program has expanded eligibility to serve sexual assault survivors across London and Middlesex County, offering free, confidential, trauma-informed support to navigate legal options. Volunteer lawyers and law students run the program in partnership with Community Legal Services.

Western’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is receiving up to $2.9 million in federal funding to boost oral health access, strengthen community partnerships and enhance dental education, preparing future dentists to deliver care to those who face barriers.

Ivey professor Janice Byrne analyzed more than 2,600 news stories to examine the media’s role in shaping public perceptions of women founders and leaders. Her research shows gendered narratives both elevate and undermine founders, contributing to the “hype cycle.”
