Detours coming up this month

Throughout October, some temporary detours will be in place for construction work on and around Halswell Junction Road, Springs Road and John Paterson Drive.

All detours will be clearly sign posted, however you may need to allow some extra time for your journey.

Shands Road Interchange will be fully operational and will be unaffected by the traffic changes.

The following areas will be affected:

Halswell Junction Road

• The Christchurch Southern Motorway off-ramp to Halswell Junction Road will be closed every weekend during October. Use the Shands Road interchange to exit the motorway:
  8pm Friday 2 Oct - 3pm Monday 5 Oct
  8pm Friday 9 Oct - 6am Monday 12 Oct
  8pm Friday 16 Oct - 6am Monday 19 Oct
  8pm Friday 23 Oct - 6am Monday 26 Oct
   
• From 9pm Tuesday 6 Oct - 5am Wednesday 7 Oct, The Halswell Junction Road Bridge, including the citybound on-ramp, will be closed.  To access the motorway, use the Shands Road Interchange instead.

Springs Road

• Between 8pm this Sunday 4 Oct - 6am Mon 5 Oct, detours will be in place for nightworks on the Springs Road Bridge for northbound traffic and the following night, southbound traffic will be detoured from 8pm Monday 5 Oct - 6am Tuesday 5 Oct.
   
• From 8pm Thursday 8 Oct - 6am Friday 9 Oct, the Springs Road Roundabout will reduce to one lane for night works.
