Above is a photo of @conchathefrenchie enjoying our Summer Concert Series at the Festival Lawn! Join us every Wednesday evening through July 6 for some great music and food. More details below.

Join us June 23 in Ward 2 at Wyco Park (East 117th Way and Wyco Drive) for Groove, Grub and Local Gov! The last two summers, Grab ‘N Go events bought food and music to neighborhood parks. For summer 2022, these popular events are enhanced – we don’t want you to Grab ‘N Go, we want you to come and stay.

• 5:30 to 6 p.m. − Talk to city staff about current efforts, give feedback on programs, and learn about resident services. Need an incentive to learn about your local gov? If you stop by the booth or visit with staff during this time, you get a $5 off coupon for the food trucks!

• 6 to 8:30 p.m. − Enjoy plenty of awesome music, unique eats, and sweet treats. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy the evening.

Visit northglenn.org/groovegrub for food truck and band information! There is no fee for the event specifically; any food purchased will be paid directly to the trucks.

Ward 3 residents are invited to attend a neighborhood meeting with council members Katherine E. Goff and Rich Kondo on June 25 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Northglenn Recreation Center community room. They will discuss summer safety and parks improvements, and you'll learn how to report issues and sign up for emergency alerts. Bring your questions and concerns! There will be coffee and breakfast burritos.

The following Groove, Grub and Local Gov event will be July 14 at the Festival Lawn with Mayor Meredith Leighty! Learn more on our website.

Did you know Mayor Leighty shares news via video on the Mayor’s Monthly Minute? Check out the June edition below!

Don't forget to pick up your FREE Northglenn Pride yard signs at City Hall, the rec center or Justice Center! The signs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our event last year demonstrated there are many people in our community and surrounding areas interested in celebrating Pride month! Recognizing this, Adams County stepped up with more funding and resources to host an even bigger event this year, making it accessible to a larger audience. The Adams County Pride event is this weekend, on June 18! The City of Northglenn and our Diversity, Inclusivity and Social Equity (DISE) Board are supporting this event instead of hosting an event of our own. We hope to see you there!

Here's a quick roundup of summer roadwork projects in your city. Visit our website to see a list of all our 2022 street projects.

Huron Waterline Replacement – The water main running along Huron Street between 104th Avenue and Fred Drive has experienced multiple breaks over the years and has been identified for replacement. This project will encompass the replacement of approximately one mile of water main, 3,900 tons of asphalt, 2,000 linear feet of concrete, 123 linear feet of storm sewer, 48 valves, and four hydrants.

ARPA Streets – This project will mill and overlay the following sections of road:

  • - East 104th Avenue from Washington Street to I-25
  • - East 104th Avenue from Irma Street to east city limit
  • - County Road 11 from East 168th Avenue to N Metro Avenue

Do you have an old or broken bike just laying around? Instead of trying to throw it away, just drop it off at the bike rack in front of the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) Building, 12301 Claude Court. All bikes will be accepted, and adult bikes are especially needed right now. The volunteer Northglenn Bike Program will repair the bicycles for the city’s Monthly Bike Giveaway, which is held the first Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through September – also at M&O. Contact Jenni Murphy at jmurphy@northglenn.org or 303.450.8904 for details.

City Hall, the Maintenance & Operations Facility, and Municipal Court will be closed on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth. On July 4, all city facilities will be closed except for the Police Department. The holidays will not affect trash pickup by the city.

Don’t get burned using fireworks in Northglenn! Using, possessing or hosting them on your property could mean a minimum fine of $1,000.

The Police Department will once again be out in the neighborhoods responding to firework activity. Want to help get the message out? Yard signs are now available at City Hall or the Justice Center.

The safe way to enjoy fireworks is to leave it to the professionals! The city is once again hosting its annual July 4th show at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park around 9 p.m. Visit
www.northglenn.org/july4th for more on the event.

We are asking residents to voluntarily reduce water use! Our goal is to use 10% less water citywide during this time to prevent worsening supply conditions.

Northglenn has also partnered with Resource Central to offer FREE sprinkler evaluations. Technicians will test your system and provide a customized watering schedule to ensure you’re not wasting water on your lawn this summer. Sign up today at ResourceCentral.org/Sprinklers.

June 22 is Bike to Work Day! Stop by during your ride for coffee and breakfast burritos from 6:30 to 9 a.m. at E.B. Rains Jr. Park. Join our celebration of bikes and be sure to grab your bicycle instead of your car for trips this summer! Co-sponsored by Smart Commute Metro North and the city.

Let's have a summer of fun! Watch the video below to learn all about our aquatics programs this season. Don't forget to join us for FREE open swim at Kiwanis Pool on July 12 and Aug. 11! We are also hosting Flick-N-Float events at our rec center pool where youth ages 12-17 can float in tubes and watch a movie on June 25, July 9, July 23 and Aug. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. Visit northglenn.org/aquatics for more information.

Discard large items for free at Dumpster Day, July 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our Maintenance & Operations Facility. Northglenn residents only! Most household items are accepted; a list of prohibited items can be found at www.northglenn.org/dumpsterdays.

Time to get back in the mud! Register now for Mudapalooza 14 – the city’s adult co-ed mud volleyball tournament. This year’s event is July 16, again at Northwest Open Space. Cost is $325 for a team of eight to 12 adults. Sign up deadline is July 8 or until filled. Call 303.450.8800 or go to www.northglenn.org/mudapalooza for more info and to register.
