For example, in some communities, families can easily access high-quality early years services, whereas other communities have limited options. When children don't have access to the supports and services they need to thrive, issues can become entrenched and more difficult and costly to address. What surrounds us shapes us and together we can create change. This is where policies have a critical role in improving the physical (e.g. built), economic and social environments that affect children’s health, development and wellbeing.
