Hamilton section project update - August 2021

We are creating a reserve at Tamahere to highlight the cultural importance of this area where Maori lived and cultivated crops.

A borrow pit – where gardeners took out sand and gravel to mix with soil – has been preserved in the centre of the 1.8-hectare reserve.

You can read more about this in the August project update, along with what’s ahead at Tamahere when the current temporary access to SH1 closes and traffic will start using one of the new bridges.

We also look at work on extending Resolution Drive out to the expressway which will see Kay Road permanently severed.
