New starters to the Fargro Technical Team

Fargro is pleased to welcome four new members to the Technical Department.

Dr Saritha Kinkiri joins the Fargro Technical Team as part of an Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Chichester. Dr Kinkiri, a data scientist specialising in machine learning and artificial intelligence, will be working closely with other new starters, user interface developer, Vera Austermann and Digital Agronomist, Laura Davey, a recent graduate from Warwick University with an MSc in Sustainable Crop Production and Agronomy on Fargro’s deep learning, data driven decision-making system for growers.

Technical Specialist, Lori-Leah Griffiths joins the team after recently completing her Masters in Sustainable Crop Production and Agronomy, also from the University of Warwick, to provide agronomy support to growers and will be instrumental in developing Fargro’s leading portfolio of technical products and solutions.

Dr Joshua Burnstone, Fargro’s Technical Director says “As a business, Fargro are committed to making UK horticulture thrive, now and into the future. In order to do this, we are investing in people and developing systems that we know will give our growers additional insight into their crops so that they can make better decisions and ultimately make them more successful”

Now is the time to apply BlocCade

With this years' harvest nearing completion, attention will shortly be turning to pruning and plant health. To reduce the risk of a number of very damaging diseases, apply BlocCade to every pruning wound - your go-to first aid for every cut you make.

BlocCade is a physical coating for protecting plant wounds against infection caused by bacteria and fungi such as Eutypa, Botryosphaeria and Nectria leading to diseases such as fruit tree canker and dead arm disease.

BlocCade is used directly to the plant wound, and is most effective when applied immediately after pruning, working as a healing treatment to form a closed barrier against various infections.
