Summer 2026 I-CUREUS Applications Now Open

Have you ever wanted to conduct paid research in your program or an area of interest? Are you looking for a way to gain hands-on experience to add value to your resume or degree? If yes, then the I-CUREUS program may be exactly what you’re looking for! Apply for the program by Tues. March 31, 2026.

Drop by the Future Learning Lab on the fourth floor of the MacOdrum Library on Thurs. April 9, 2026 between 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the annual I-CUREUS and Students as Partners Program Showcase to hear from some of this year’s program participants and learn about their projects.

 

Ravens Student Life Kit Pick-Up

Are you a first-generation student? Stop by the Nideyinàn Galleria on Wed. March 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to collect your Ravens Student Life Kit. Please be sure to bring your Campus Card. Not a first-generation student? Stop by and play the “Raven’s Claw” machine game for your chance to win a Ravens Student Life Kit and learn about other Ontario Post-Secondary Access and Inclusion Programs (OPAIP) funded initiatives.

Spring and Summer Leagues Are Here

Get back in the game this spring and summer. Adult soccer, basketball and volleyball leagues are now open for registration, with 20% off individual registration for students. A new doubles pickleball league will also be added to the lineup. Team up with a partner and join the action. Register early to secure your spot before leagues fill up!

Coming Up at Career Services

Career Services has several employer events and grad school booths coming up before the end of the month! This includes a YMCA National Capital Region info session, Central Overseas Education info booth, Discover Technata Career Fair and more.

 

Volunteer Opportunity: Wheelchair Basketball

The 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships will be held in Ottawa in September 2026, bringing the best 28 men’s and women’s teams from across the world to compete at Carleton, as well as The Arena at TD Place. Sign up to volunteer on the Ottawa 2026 website to contribute to the event, gain valuable experience and enjoy wheelchair basketball action. A variety of skill-building roles are available, including operations, hospitality and marketing.

Volunteering can be a meaningful way to contribute to the community, make connections and build employability skills. Visit the Volunteer Ottawa website for more community opportunities for students.

 

Level Up Learning Week

Level Up Learning Week is a week-long initiative to help you prepare effectively for final exams. Stop by the Teraanga Commons Dining Hall or Nideyinàn Food Court from Mon. March 23 to Fri. March 27, 2026 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to learn about exam preparation strategies and study tips, ask questions about Carleton’s academic supports and exam preparation resources and play the “Raven’s Claw” machine game for your chance to win a prize to support your studying.

 

Direct-from-Bachelor to PhD Pathway

Graduate Studies is offering outstanding undergraduate students the opportunity to enter directly into a PhD program beginning in fall 2026. In this initial approved phase, participating programs include Biology, Building Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering and Physics. Finding off‑campus housing can be exciting, but it’s important to watch out for rental scams, understand your rights as a tenant and take your time before committing. Learn some tips and resources to help you search with confidence, avoid unnecessary stress and find a place that truly feels like home.

 

Book Bazaar

Are you looking to expand your personal library, discover a new book or find helpful study resources? The Office of the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Mental Health and Well-Being Research and Training Hub (MeWeRTH) are co-hosting a book bazaar on Wed. March 25, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the second floor Loeb lounge. Stop by and find your next great read. Books are free!

 

Take a Summer Course in Quebec City

Are you interested in Quebec culture, literature and identity? The Department of French is offering experiential learning opportunities to its students with their French summer course in Quebec City. This blended course includes asynchronous online modules and an in-person stay in Quebec City from Mon. May 25 to Sun. May 31, 2026. Please apply by Wed. April 1, 2026.

Nominations are open to serve on a Towards Carleton@100 working group. This is an opportunity to share insights, experiences and ideas to inform Carleton’s strategic directions toward 2030 and 2042.
