All aboard! Next generation of quantity surveyors visit site
A group of third year Massey University quantity surveying students visited site this month to find out more about what’s been happening in the area.
With their Albany campus close by, they have watched progress over the years and the tour provided the opportunity for an exclusive drive through site and talk from the construction team along the way.
“It was great to be able to take the next generation of quantity surveyors on site for a tour and we hope that it’s fuelled their passion for construction as they start their career,” says John Robson, Waka Kotahi Project Manager.
Lecturer Ravindu Kahandawa also sent a message of thanks, saying “it was a great experience for the teaching team and students. Our students were very interested in seeing a civil construction project that is very near and dear to them. They got to learn about different technologies and construction methods used in civil work and how to deal with actual problems like live traffic control, method of fixing precast panels horizontally and the impact of details of excavation project.”
