It was a busy quarter with teams working nationwide on a diverse range of projects, including helping FIFA prepare Coopers Stadium in Adelaide for the Women’s World Cup. We’ve also been actively connecting with industry and colleagues. Our 2023 Emerging Leaders Program, which equips current and aspiring leaders with the essential tools needed for their professional journey, concluded in the Adelaide Hills. In Port Augusta, Fyfe exhibited at the Tactic Conference & Trade Expo, showcasing our integrated services and connecting with mining, energy, and renewables sector peers and clients from the Upper Spencer Gulf. We were also a finalist at the UDIA Awards for our work on a complex master-planned residential estate in Mount Barker, the fifth-fastest growing area in SA. In QLD, our hydrogen experts explored the latest developments at the Hydrogen Connect Summit. In terms of recent expansion, we're pleased to share the opening of our new Melbourne office for our growing VIC team. Further north, we’re exhibiting at NT Resources Week in Darwin, showcasing our services in defence, mining, energy, renewables, and infrastructure. We extended our outreach efforts at the University of Queensland, attending the Engineering Undergraduate Society Careers Fair, the Watson Miles Engineering panel at King's College, and the Women's Industry Night. Elsewhere, we attended the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Careers Fair and the Adelaide University Engineering Society Industry Night. In the articles below, learn more about our recent projects and activities, spanning urban regeneration and brownfield solutions, to our work at the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). Thank you for your interest in Fyfe. Look out for more insights and other exciting projects coming throughout 2023. Sincerely, Gary Spence Brownfield development involves repurposing underutilised or contaminated land for new construction, reducing urban sprawl and optimising existing urban spaces. By knowing what’s under the surface before excavation begins, the planning process is made easier, worker-safety is ensured, service disruptions are prevented, and developers can capitalise on existing infrastructure. Our passionate Fyfe engineers have developed an innovative model for hydrogen pipeline integrity for our clients. This development is a significant step towards ensuring the safe and efficient deployment and management of hydrogen pipelines. The NSW Government is developing a Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) in the Central-West Orana region, the first of its kind in Australia and one of five planned for the state. Fyfe has boots on the ground in Central-West Orana, helping EnergyCo make the REZ a reality. Mining operations could support the transition towards a more sustainable energy future by helping to curb curtailment, drive demand, and encourage investment in renewable sources. Fyfe has supported Bengal Energy on an innovative project in the Cooper Basin. Flooding in NSW represents a $250-million annual cost to the economy, not to mention the personal costs to residents. After last year’s significant flooding, local councils in the Hunter region are preparing for flood and storm events by engaging Fyfe’s flood level experts. |
