Update for Residents and Families at Calvary Haydon

Following on from yesterday’s communication, I am pleased to inform you that no positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected amongst residents and staff in the first round of testing on Thursday, 17 March 2022. The next round of COVID-19 testing is schedule for Monday, 21 March 2022 and our next communication to you will follow the outcome of these results.

A reminder for residents and families, that Calvary Haydon is open to visitors consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care. There are however, specific requirements to help keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible. Please see below.

Updated information for visitors

  • Visiting hours remain 9.00am – 5.00pm, with last entry permitted at 5.00pm. This is to enable all screening processes to be completed by our day staff.
  • All visitors will be supplied with the appropriate PPE (including face masks and shields as appropriate) to wear whilst visiting. Staff will assist as required.
  • Visitors to the Mary Potter, St Teresa and St Margaret households will be required to wear full PPE.

We will continue to liaise closely with Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to remove the current restrictions. We will keep you updated as information becomes available. We anticipate our next update to you will be post day 6 testing which is scheduled for

Please be assured that our staff have prepared for situations such as these and are trained in strict infection control procedures. They continue to focus all of their attention on the individual care needs of residents. You can help us to ease anxiety by sharing this information with other family and friends.
