Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Member,

RE: COVID-19 exposure update for Residents and Families of Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community

Further to our last update on 2 January, we are still awaiting the results of PCR tests completed for all Calvary Muswellbrook residents. Given the continuing high volume of community testing, we are not yet able to confirm a timeframe for receiving the results.

In the meantime, our residents are well and being cared for in their rooms. Our staff are closely monitoring residents for any symptoms of COVID-19.

Calvary Muswellbrook remains closed for general visitation. Exemptions will be made for special visits for residents receiving end of life care, so please talk to the home manager or care staff to make specific arrangements, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you wish to book a video call with your loved one via our WebEx video call service.

We appreciate that this is a frustrating and challenging time for many residents and families, and we thank you again for your continued understanding.

We will update you again as soon as any further information is available.

As results come to hand, we will continue to liaise closely with Hunter New England Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to re-open Calvary Muswellbrook or lift the current restrictions on residents’ movement.
