Dear Resident and Family Members,

COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families at Calvary Brighton: Outbreak Declared Over

I am pleased to inform you that the previous two (2) positive residents in Banksia Wing have now been medically cleared, and SA Health has declared the outbreak at Calvary Brighton Over. All negative and medically cleared residents in the home can now be de-isolated and are able to move freely around the facility.

However, one (1) additional resident has tested positive to COVID-19 at Calvary Brighton since our last communication to you. The positive resident is in isolation and receiving care in their room, and we have notified their family.

Because of this, some visitation restrictions will remain in place for the next seven (7) days to help keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible. Please see below:

Information for visitors

  • In line with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, there is a limit of one (1) fully vaccinated visitor per resident, per day
  • Visitation hours are between 10.00am and 5.00pm seven (7) days a week.
  • All visitors will be supplied with the appropriate PPE (including face masks and shields as appropriate) to wear whilst visiting.
  • Visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.

Our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19, and our testing regime will continue every 48 hours until we reach day 14 from the initial case.

We are very grateful to our residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time. You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.

Sincerely,
