NDIS Commissioner's update

Welcome! Thank you to all the Tasmanian providers who attended our forum in Launceston recently. It was great to see so many engaged professionals. 

And as cooler weather sets in, it's a reminder that we must be prepared for a possible new wave of COVID-19 this winter.

Central Australian provider Veritable is finding innovative ways to engage with participants through videos and paintings.

  • The NDIS Commission commenced civil penalty proceedings against LiveBetter Services Limited, in relation to the death of a participant.
     
  • The Commissioner Tracy Mackey met with 80 providers and advocates at our provider forum in Launceston, Tasmania.

  • New fact sheets are available on the Workforce Capability Framework to build workers’ capability and understanding of ‘what good looks like’ for participants. 

  • A new Medication Purpose form is available to document the purpose of medication given to participants.

  • Prepare for a winter outbreak of COVID-19 with updated guidelines for infection control in disability accommodation settings or see more COVID-19 Information for providers on our website.
     
  • The Department of Health and Aged Care has issued its next COVID-19 Disability Provider Alert. More information is available on the Department's page for disability service providers.
