Hi everyone, Michael and Nana here! We're the two NSO coordinators who will be your primary contacts for PHINS this year. Thank you all so much for volunteering to help us welcome the new Class of 2023. You all are going to be a crucial part of the incoming class' first week here at Penn. With NSO just over a month away, it's time to start the initial preparing. Below you will find important pieces of information you should know before NSO begins.
WebsiteWe need just a few bits of information from you for your bios on the PHINS website. ALL PHINS must fill out this form by Friday, July 19.
Penn Life Sketches You may remember Penn Life Sketches (PLS) from your first year, but if you don't, the Penn Life Sketches introduce incoming students to topics relevant at Penn including mental wellness, roommate conflicts, drug/alcohol use, campus resources, etc. Performing in PLS fulfills ALL your PHINS duties. That means that you don’t have to take any additional PHINS shifts. If you're interested, please fill out this form.
Food Most of the food during NSO events is also available to you guys as NSO staff. We will also be providing all of you with lunch meal swipes that you can use during the week. However, keep in mind that breakfast and dinner will be on you. If this poses a problem for you, please send either of us an email. After we get a finalized version of
the NSO calendar, we will send you a copy and you'll be able to see the meals you will have access to.

Move-In & TrainingOn Campus Move in for PHINS is on Sunday, August 18 and training will be the following Monday, August 19. Please let us know ASAP if you have any scheduling conflicts. Although move-in officially begins at 9am, students living in one of the high rises are strongly encouraged to move in after 2pm to allow for their rooms to be cleaned after the summer conference sessions end. If you plan on moving in before 2pm on the 18th, be advised that the room may not be ready and that your move-in could be delayed. Please let us know if you have any other questions regarding on campus housing! Greek Housing If you are going to live in Greek Housing, please use this link to request early move-in. This form must be submitted by July 21 so make sure to get that in before the deadline. The earliest you can move is August 22. This decision was made by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life so you will have to make your own housing arrangements to arrive by Monday, August 19.
Shift Sign-Up Keep in mind that shift sign-up for NSO will open up in mid-August so please stay tuned.

Secondary PHINS Contact Hey everybody! I'm a rising senior in the College majoring in Architecture and minoring in Anthropology. I'm also really interested in positive psychology. I'm from Mayer, Minnesota (aka the middle of nowhere), but my family is originally from Ghana. When I'm not pulling all-nighters in the studio, I spend my free time making music. I love singing, songwriting, and playing my clarinet and ukulele. I'm really looking forward to working with you! I'll be your secondary contact for PHINS so you can email me at nanant@sas.upenn.edu or text me
at (952)-393-0270. Fun PHact: I was born in Kumasi, Ghana and am technically a princess.
