We’re excited to kick off NSO with each of you, and we really value the commitment and enthusiasm you bring to our lovely PHINS Phamily!

This email contains essential information regarding Shift Sign-Ups, Move-In, and In-Person Training. Please save this information for future reference! Also, keep an eye out for details about your specific PHINS Orientation Group number and the list of new students you'll be working with.

In the meantime, here are some Important Dates to Remember:

• PHINS move-in: Saturday, August 15 (starting at 2pm)
• In-Person Training: Sunday, August 16 (10am to 3pm)
• NSO: Wednesday, August 19 – Monday, August 24
• Mandatory PHINS Phriday activities: Friday, August 21 (9:45am-4:30pm)
• A Night at the National Constitution Center: Saturday, August 22

PHINS Move-In Information

PHINS are allowed to move into their College Houses on Saturday, August 15, any time after 2pm EST.  

You may have received an email from Penn Residential Services about selecting your move-in time. Please disregard that email as our office will be sponsoring your early move-in. You do NOT need to take any action at this time.

If you are living in Greek Housing, please be advised to contact the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life (OFSL) and/or your individual organization separately. We only sponsor early move-in for College House residents.

DINING INFORMATION

PHINS leaders can dine in the dining cafés for dinner on Saturday, August 15, through Monday, August 24. You are limited to one meal swipe per meal period, and guest swipes are not provided. If you are on a dining plan for the fall semester, that will become effective on the first day of classes.

Additionally, we will provide a catered lunch at PHINS In-Person Training!

Introducing: PHINS CORE!

PHINS CORE (Peers Helping Integrate New Students Course of Required Education) is live! This supplemental Canvas training will help us keep In-Person Training fun and focused on relationship building. Please complete PHINS CORE by EOD Tuesday, August 18, the day before NSO officially starts.

Reminder: you must score an 80% on the final PHINS CORE Quiz (located on the 'Quizzes" tab of the Canvas site) in order to complete the course.

Coordinator Meeting & PHINS Training

We can't wait to see you for the PHINS Coordinator Meeting this Saturday, August 15 at 7pm in ARCH 108. We will give you merch and a preview of what to expect at PHINS Training! Bring your Laptop!

Then on Sunday, August 16, for our Mandatory In-Person PHINS Training, held in Meyerson B1, please arrive outside the Weitzman School of Design Building, to the side of the Fisher Fine Arts Library, at 9am to help us set up for PHINS arriving at 9:30am. The training will begin promptly at 10am.  Bring your Laptop!

We will be providing you lunch at the Sunday training. We expect the training to last until approximately 3pm. We will wrap up the training with a group photo, so make sure to grab your merch for this one!
