Karen’s award was announced by the Lutheran Nurses Association of Australia (LNAA) on 12 May, which is also International Nurses Day. Sue Morrison, a retired nurse from Warrnambool Vic was awarded a Certificate of Meritorious Service. During the webinar, Churchwide Bishop Paul Smith, GCB members Tim Wiebusch and Kim Baumeler and Project Director Stella Thredgold discussed the proposed Way Forward Framework. General Synod delegate updates and nominations reminder With the LCANZ Convention of General Synod now less than five months away, it’s time to check that your congregation and delegate/s are up to date with preparations for this important churchwide event. It is also time to submit nominations for positions on the church’s boards, councils, commissions and committees, which must be done by 30 June. Transport, accommodation and dining Information about accommodation, transport, dining, and things to do in Adelaide has been prepared for delegates and is available on the LCA website Synod webpages. It can also be downloaded as a PDF. In the lead-up to the LCANZ's Convention of General Synod in October this year, we want to keep you as up-to-date as possible with critical information before, during and after this important churchwide gathering. Therefore, we're adjusting the publication dates of The Lutheran for the next few editions. The October–November edition will be mailed out in late October to include convention coverage. The June–July edition will be posted to subscribers in early July, and the August–September edition will be sent in late August. If you don't already receive
