Dear

With spring in full swing and warmer days ahead, we have some fantastic fundraising events coming up to help brighten the days ahead. We’re also delighted to share some exciting organisational updates with you!

Join us for summer fun – can you help at one of OUR Fundraising Events in 2026?

We’re looking for volunteers to assist with marshalling, gazebo set up and clean up, welfare checks, handing out finish line medals and much more!

  • Pier 2 Pier Norfolk – Saturday 6th June.
  • The Piglet, Junior Hog – Sunday 12th July.
  • Pier 2 Pier Suffolk – Saturday 12th September.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please email our events team: events@each.org.uk

We’re pleased to share that EACH is participating in Room to Reward, a wonderful scheme working with charities to recognise and reward exceptional volunteers. This program relies on unsold hotel rooms to offer ‘thank you’ breaks to charity volunteers across the country.

Because these rewards are donated, they are limited in number. Our selection process will focus on highlighting specific milestones or exceptional projects.

We hope some of our volunteers will soon be able to benefit from this wonderful perk!

Choosing just one person is always a challenge because the standard of contribution across this entire group is so high. While not everyone can be selected this time, please know that your individual impact is seen and deeply valued.

A big cheers to you – save the date!

We wanted to remind you of our upcoming Volunteer Thank You Days in September and October 2026 and join us as we celebrate YOU! Please look out for more information coming soon. Event invites will be sent in June.

Relaunch of Help at Home at The Treehouse

We’re pleased to share that Lorraine, who many of you may know from her role as Volunteer Services Partner for Suffolk, is now taking on the Help at Home Volunteer Coordinator role.

Lorraine will be working to relaunch our service at The Treehouse, supporting families in a practical and meaningful way. If you’re a volunteer who would be interested in getting involved with the Help at Home service, or would like to find out more, please contact VolunteerServices@each.org.uk.

We’re really looking forward to seeing the service grow and support more families across Suffolk and Essex!

Treehouse Expansion Update

Work on the Treehouse expansion is well underway, and it’s great to see things taking shape. The ground has now been prepared, ahead of the next phase of foundation work. We’re looking forward to sharing more on the development as this progresses. Updates on the project can be found on our website, click below to find our more.

ECHO Investigates! - Episode 3

We’re excited to be trialling a new series of short social media clips, led by our mascot ECHO, designed to help break down some of the common misperceptions around children’s hospice care.

Our mascot ECHO is back again, this time focusing on toys in our hospices. You can watch episode three by clicking below.

Safeguarding Guidance for Volunteers

This guidance is designed to help volunteers feel confident in their role by clearly explaining how to recognise safeguarding concerns, what action to take, and who to speak to if something doesn’t feel right.

  • Recognise: Spotting signs of harm or abuse. Think about your training and if something doesn’t look, sound or feel right, it needs checking.
  • Respond: How to respond to a disclosure sensitively. If someone talks to you about something, listen and don’t ask any leading questions. Repeat back what you heard.
  • Report: Following the internal reporting chain immediately. Speak to your supervisor.
  • Record: Documenting facts, times, and specific words without delay. Note anything unusual.
  • Refer: Passing information to the Service Manager at the hospice or your supervisor.

We hope you have a wonderful start to the spring and thank you as always for your support.
