Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families: Outbreak declared over at Calvary Gympie Views

Further to our last communication, I am very pleased to inform you that no additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19 at Calvary Gympie Views in the latest round of testing.

In line with Public Health Unit advice, the outbreak at Calvary Gympie Views can now be declared over. Our last residents have been de-isolated and visitation can now recommence from today 17 February 2022, consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care.

Information for visitors

  • Calvary Gympie Views is open to visitors from today 17 February 2022.
  • Visiting hours are between 11.00am and 6.00pm, with last entry permitted at 4.30pm. This is to ensure all screening processes can be completed by our day staff.
  • There is no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day. However only two visitors are permitted at any one time.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate PPE (including a surgical grade face mask and shield supplied by Gympie Views) whilst visiting. PPE is provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • If you have any questions please speak with the home manager.

As always, visitation exceptions can be made for residents receiving end of life care and for compassionate visits. Please contact the home manager to make arrangements.

We will continue to monitor residents closely for symptoms of COVID-19.

We are very grateful to our residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time, and very much look forward to receiving visitors back into the home.

Sincerely,

Cassandra Schwartz,

Acting General Manager Aged Care
