Consent Awareness Week 2026

It’s Consent Awareness Week, running Mon. Sept. 21 to Fri. Sept. 25, 2026. The Carleton Sexual Assault Support Centre is offering events to raise awareness about consent as a daily practice, sexual violence prevention and bystander intervention. Join CUSASC during this week-long campaign and continue Carleton’s commitment to fostering a safer and more informed community.

Campus Ave. Construction & Bus Stop Impacts

Campus Ave. is closed to traffic between Rideau House and the Nicol Building due to a watermain replacement. Pedestrians can use the sidewalks on the east side of Campus Ave. (closer to O-Train tracks).

OC Transpo stops on Campus Ave. are temporarily relocated:

• For routes 10 Hurdman, 48 Hurdman and 111 Baseline, use the temporary stop on University Dr. southbound across from Athletics. 
• For route 7 St-Laurent, use the stop on University Dr. northbound near Athletics. 
• Routes 7, 48 and 111 Carleton terminate at the temporary stop on University Dr. southbound across from Athletics.

Financial vs. Academic Withdrawal

Ensure you are aware of the separate deadlines for financial and academic withdrawal. Making course registration decisions involves making a financial and academic commitment. A fee adjustment is dependent on cancelling registration within the published fee deadlines.

Applying to Graduate

If you plan to complete your degree by the end of the fall or the winter term, double check your audit after you've registered in all your courses. Apply to graduate in Carleton Central (log in through Carleton360) by Mon. Nov. 30, 2026 for winter or Thurs. April 1, 2027 for spring.

If you applied for Nov. graduation, you will have received an application acknowledgement email from the Registrar's Office. This email lists all the information on file concerning your graduation, such as your full name and degree program.

2026-2027 Scholarships and Bursaries Awards for Indigenous Students

Applications are now open for Indigenous student scholarships and bursaries for the 2026-2027 academic year. Some applications are due Sat. Oct. 31, 2026.

Learn more about academic governance by joining a Senate Standing Committee. Positions are available on the Honorary Degrees Committee, the Senate Academic Governance Committee and the Senate Review Committee.

Beware of IT Support Scams

A common scam is cybercriminals impersonating IT support staff through Microsoft Teams or phone calls to gain access to computers and accounts. They may claim your account or device needs attention. If someone contacts you unexpectedly and asks you to install software, provide your multi-factor authentication code, or provide remote access, stop and verify their identity directly through the ITS Service Desk. If you think you may be the victim of a scam, protect yourself with these resources.

Community Healing, Rebuilding and Belonging Consultations Reminder

The Community Healing, Rebuilding and Belonging Task Force is seeking community feedback as it works to identify what we can do collectively to build a truly inclusive Carleton. Feedback can be provided by taking part in a consultation session, completing an anonymous online consultation form or emailing the Task Force co-chairs.
