Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell expressed her excitement, stating, "The Palmerston Youth Festival is a celebration of the youth, culture, diversity and creative industries in our community. We are thrilled to bring this event back and provide a platform for youth to express themselves, showcase their talents, and connect with others who share their passions. It's an incredible experience that fosters creativity, growth, and camaraderie." Quote attributed to Member for Drysdale, Minister Eva Lawler, “Palmerston Youth Festival gets bigger and better every year. If you haven’t been you must. Quote attributed to Minoli De Silva – ex Masterchef contestant “I am super excited to be a part of the Palmerston Youth Festival this year. I can’t wait to host Rookie Cooks on 12 July to showcase some young up-and-coming local chefs. Don’t forget to grab a friend and team up to test your culinary skills. The day will be full of fun and you will learn new skills. You’ll also get to taste some yummy dishes.” As the Youth Festival is right around the corner, the events are going to be exciting for everyone, big and small, young, and old. One of the most popular events is Geekfest Top End, which is usually the big finale. However, this year the City of Palmerston has decided to make it the opening events, jam-packed with more interactive events, art stalls and competitions for all ages! One of the newer events is the Kpop Dance Challenge, run by cosplayer and dancer Sam Santos, which was introduced last year and has become a roaring success within the local dancing community, as well as the Kpop fans in the Palmerston area. The Kpop Dance Challenge is coming back again this year, with performances from the dance group PSYCH3, and multiple rounds of dancing to your favourite songs from the Kpop genre. The Kpop Dance Challenge is also going to have MCs, hype, and support people, with members from the PSYCH3 dance group and Grace, from the Youth Media Team. Feel free to come and dance to kpop, or bring good vibes to the Kpop Dance Challenge at Geek Fest. See you there! Youth Media Team Artice CALLING ALL YOUNG PEOPLE IN PALMERSTON!
