Reaching more than 75 clubs, this partnership offers members a range of new initiatives to foster a healthier, more connected sporting environment. At the centre of this collaboration is the launch of the Member Assistance Program, a free and confidential counselling service available to all PFL members. The WAVE project announced as finalist The Healthway-funded WAVE project was one of three finalists in the 'Outstanding Achievement in Influencing Policy or Research' category at the recent 2025 Injury Prevention & Safety Awards. This project was the first research project in WA to explore the impact of alcohol advertising on young people aged 16-24 years in and around aquatic settings. It also supports public health advocacy to reduce alcohol related harm. ![]() New tobacco laws: A win for public health From 1 July 2025, Australia’s tobacco laws have changed, marking the most significant reform in over a decade.
