Help us create a new Arts & Creative Industries Plan for Palmerston
City of Palmerston are creating a new arts strategy for 2022-2027 and we want to hear from those in Palmerston and its surrounds who have a stake in the arts (audience, artists, arts workers, and everything in between). You don’t need to be living within Palmerston, as I suspect one of the focuses of the plan will be how to better integrate the Palmerston and Rural and Darwin Arts overlap.
The City of Palmerston is developing its new Arts and Creative Industries Strategy for 2023-2027. Territory based consultants Matrix on Board Consulting have been engaged to work with the community and Council to develop a five-year strategy to support participation and engagement in the arts across the diverse population and economy of the City of Palmerston footprint. Involving the artists and arts and cultural organisations who call Palmerston home or use workshops, classes, exhibitions, or performance venues across Palmerston’s footprint is a crucial part of developing a useful strategy.
You are invited to participate in our survey, we want to hear from artists based in Palmerston and its surrounds. Your experiences, opinions and ideas are highly valued and appreciated.

Art Jam - Cosplay and Costume Back to Basics

Come along to Art Jam and meet up with Danielle from Zesty Productions and work on your costume for Geekfest Top End 2022!
Back to Basics is a meet up aimed at supporting young crafters to design and start working on their costumes/cosplay outfits and learn the basics of SFX makeup.
There are three sessions in total.
- Session 1 - Costume Back to Basics
- Session 2 - Costume Back to Basics
- Session 3 - SFX Makeup
No need to book just meetup at Durack Art Centre - 33 Packard Ave, Durack NT 0830
Public transport - Catch Route 87 from the Palmerston Bus Depot and get off at Stop 972
