Twin Coast Discovery Route : Township Plans
Thank you for participating in the development of eight Township Plans across the Twin Coast Discovery Route.
While each community workshop identified unique opportunities for improvement, there were common themes across all townships, specifically the need for better walking and cycling connections, improved environmental protection of tidal edges and rivers and opportunities to celebrate the cultural heritage of each town through signage and street art.
A brief summary of what we heard at the community workshops is available here. A detailed consultation summary will be provided within the final Township Plans.
The eight Twin Coast Discovery Route Township Plans have now been provided to Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and are currently undergoing reviews and approvals.
We expect to release the final Township Plans in the new year.
Development of projects within the plans will be led by local Councils and delivery timeframes and prioritisation will be subject to funding availability.
