Upcoming road closures and night works for Motueka

On 22 September 2022, work will start on the roundabout at the intersection of High Street, Old Wharf Road and King Edward Street.

Following a routine safety audit and feedback from the Motueka community, we want to making sure everyone who uses the crossings and drives through the roundabout can do so safely.

We have been monitoring the roundabout since it was built. We have identified that relocating the pedestrian crossings 12-20 metres away from the roundabout and placing the crossings on raised platforms will ensure people using the crossings are more visible to people in vehicles.

From Thursday 22 September until early December 2022, road closures and night works will be taking place at this intersection.

Resealing work will also be completed on Tudor Street, with night works from 13 to 22 November. Each night the works will start at 7pm to 6am. During these night works, the exit and entry from Tudor Street onto High Street will be closed. There will also be stop/go traffic management on High Street.

High St, Old Wharf Rd and King Edward St intersection

On Thursday 22 September, an evening of night works will take place at this intersection. This will start from 6pm to 6am. State Highway 60 (High Street) will remain open during this time under stop/go traffic management.

From Tuesday 27 September until approximately Friday 28 October, Old Wharf Road entrance and exit from High Street intersection will be closed, and a detour will be in place (see maps below).

From Monday 31 October until approximately Friday 25 November, King Edward Street entrance and exit from the High Street intersection will be closed, and a detour will be in place (see maps below).

We will need to complete further night works from Tuesday 15 November until Thursday 1 December. Our teams will be on the job between 6pm and 6am. High Street (SH60) will remain open during this time under Stop/Go traffic management.

We will be using electronic signs to advertise the works in advance of the site.

Access for people walking on the footpaths and across the road near the intersection will be maintained with gates setup to keep people separated from the construction site. Clear signage will be in place directing people walking across the road, so please follow the signs to keep everyone safe.

Tudor Street night-time road works

Resealing work will be completed on Tudor Street, with night works from 13 to 22 November. Each night the works will start at 7pm to 6am.

During these night works, the exit and entry from Tudor Street onto High Street will be closed. There will also be stop/go traffic management on High Street.
