Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

Calvary Kingston Gardens re-opening to visitors tomorrow

I am pleased to advise that after discussion with the local Public Health Unit (PHU), Calvary Kingston Gardens is open to visitors tomorrow, Sunday 15 January 2022.

Of the (3) residents who tested positve, (2) are cleared and (1) resident is currently active and being cared for in their room until cleared.

As a result, the PHU has advised that the restrictions at the home can be lifted and that residents can move freely within the home effective today.

Are visitors allowed?

In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor only will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours. This is due to the continuing heightened risk of infection and will be in place until further notice.

Each family should nominate the visitor and notify the home manager of who this person is. The visitor is strongly encouraged to have obtained a booster vaccine if they are eligible.

Visitors will be required to wear an N95 Mask provided by the home.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.

What happens now?

Our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

Designated visitors will may be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home.

Thank you to our residents for your cooperation during this recent exposure period. To our families, we are grateful that you continue to work with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care, and look forward to receiving visitors back into the home.

Sincerely,

Sharon Martindale, General Manager Aged Care
