Entrepreneurship Program Graduates Congratulations to our latest City of Charles Sturt graduates of the SA Business Chamber Entrepreneurs Program! Last week our team went along to support our graduates, namely Jasmine Cooke and Jessica Clarke who attended. Graduates have spent the past eight months immersed in workshops, mentorship, and business planning. We wish Jasmine and Jessica all the best with their business ventures! Women in the West - Elevating Women's Visibility Our recent women's networking event and workshop encouraged the visibility of women. Attendees left with actionable steps to promote their personal brand and businesses. Navigating Family Business Workshops In partnership with Government of South Australia’s Office for Small and Family Business, Family Business Association is offering three workshops in South Australia to help family business owners build fundamental knowledge and capability. The following workshops will be offered until October 2024: succession planning, governance, and legal compliance. Workshops run for three hours and are available both in-person in Adelaide and online, costing $55 per person. Meet the Buyer Meet the Buyer is a unique opportunity to make meaningful connections with state government agencies and head contractors delivering state-funded projects, enhancing growth and collaboration within our local industry. With over 40 exhibitors, from Public Authorities, Head Contractors and Industry Bodies, there is genuine intent to engage with SA based businesses to better understand your relevant capability and capacity. When: Tuesday 2 July, 7:30am-11am The City of Charles Sturt supports local businesses, artists, arts organisations, musicians, live music venues and residents to develop and deliver new ideas, initiatives or projects in our City. Celebrating our businesses and mainstreets We love our Charles Sturt streets, businesses, and precincts. To celebrate the wonderful places in our City to shop, visit and explore, we showcase a street each week. From thriving beachside mainstreets to hidden suburban gems, we are spreading the love for our business community. We want to hear why you also love these streets and share with your communities. Coastal Sounds Festival Did you experience Coastal Sounds, along our coastline earlier this month? The 13km shoreline festival extended into Semaphore, and featuring 26 live music performances, art experiences, and dance workshops in 11 locations in West Beach, Henley Beach, Grange, Semaphore Park, and Semaphore. Coastal Sounds Festival 2024 was a collaboration between City of Charles Sturt and City of Port Adelaide Enfield. Fantastic to see locals and visitors activating these picturesque locations in and around our business community. Mural Month This June we have been celebrating ‘Mural Month’ in our City with gifted artists working across various spaces. We've worked with brilliant artists Hari Koutlakis, Jasmine Crisp, Jack Fran, Julia Blanka, Nicky Create, TaylrJay, Tony Barber and also students from Immaculate Heart of Mary School to create a host of stunning new murals. Find out more about each mural below and see how they've transformed each space. We encourage everyone to view the murals in-person too. Fearless Innovator Grant Program Applications are now open for the Fearless Innovator Grants program! Female innovators can now apply for grants to help grow and scale their businesses into new markets through two streams: Accelerate (up to $10,000 to accelerate a business) and Scale Up (up to $30,000 to scale up a business). The South Australian Government has committed $110,000 from the Research and Innovation Fund to help bridge this gap. Small Business Sustainability Support Program The Small Business Sustainability Support Program has been designed to help you develop strategies to improve your environmental sustainability, and to build the skills and capability to implement sustainable business practices. More information about upcoming workshops will be coming soon, which you can also register to be notified about below. Adelaide Beaches Tourism Marketing SupportThe Western Adelaide Tourism Alliance of Councils incorporating the Cities of Charles Sturt, Holdfast Bay, Port Adelaide Enfield and West Torrens coordinate the Adelaide Beaches tourism website. The Adelaide Beaches website is the premier website for all there is to see and do and where to stay in the Western Region of Adelaide and you can be listed on it. Is your business listed on ATDW? The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is the national online platform for tourism information. Through ATDW, you can create listings for your business and products, which can appear on sites including australia.com and southaustralia.com.au.There is no cost to list your business on the ATDW and it is free to have your information featured on the Adelaide Beaches website. You can search for current open tenders on the SA Tenders and Contracts website, which is commonly used for public tendering for major purchases of goods, services and works.
